Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CVox3)

History: The meteorite was purchased from a meteorite dealer in Western Sahara.

Physical characteristics: Oriented stone completely covered with fresh fusion crust.

Petrography: Chondrite composed of large chondrules (up to 800 µm sized), whitish CAIs (up to 12 mm sized), and olivine amoeboids all set into an abundant fine-grained almost black matrix. Opaque phases are Ni-rich sulfides, magnetite, and rare metal. Few chondrules show brownish staining due to terrestrial alteration.

Geochemistry: Ni in sulfides 17.6±1.1 wt%, N=7

Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CVox3). Oxidized subgroup based on high concentrations of Ni in sulfide Gattacceca et al., 2020.
